Third-Party Interception.
Third-Party Interception is the pattern where an AI agent finds a brand but hands the transaction to a third party (a comparison portal, a dealer, an EPC contractor, an integrator) before it reaches the brand. The brand is visible. Someone else closes the deal, before the brand ever sees it.
Found, but intercepted. A third party stands between the brand and the close.
Why this exists
A routing problem,
not a visibility one.
A brand can be visible to AI and still lose the order. When an agent moves from research to transaction, it follows the path with the least friction. If an intermediary sits on that path, the intermediary gets the deal.
The intermediary changes by industry: a comparison portal in insurance, an EPC contractor in energy, a dealer in retail, an integrator in software. The pattern does not. Optimizing for visibility alone misses the point where the order actually bends away [S1].

Insurance
AI recommends a comparison portal as the path in 4 of 18 category answers at Allianz [S3]. The agent finds the insurer, then routes the quote through the portal or a broker before the insurer ever sees it.
Energy
Siemens Energy is found with AI Visibility 41.9, yet the project decision runs through the EPC contractor [S4]. The brand is visible; the contractor specifies the equipment and places the order.
Where it sits
Interception, not completion.
An Agent Revenue Leak leaks at two points. Third-Party Interception is the first: the order routes away before it reaches the brand. The second, completion, is different. There the agent does reach the brand, but the last step is unusable. Interception is a routing problem upstream; completion is a usability problem at the end. This page is the upstream half.
